Description:

This workshop will provide an overview of the impact of child sexual abuse and will focus on clinical considerations and interventions for families that have experienced sexual abuse. It will include directive play based interventions that help to develop self-calming coping skills and provide a safe and containing space for children to develop self-expression and decrease isolation.

Objectives:

  • Identify at least tow elements of a trauma informed therapeutic stance
  • Describe at least two implementation considerations for sexual abuse focused clinical practice for children
  • Demonstrate at least two expressive art or play therapy interventions appropriate for children that have experienced sexual abuse
  • Identify at least one creative strategy to facilitate engagement with children that have experienced sexual abuse

Presenter:
Cynthia Rollo, LCSW-C, is a National Trainer for TF-CBT and has been involved in bringing trauma specific trainings to mental health professionals, administrators, graduate students, child welfare workers and case managers who provide care in a range of community and residential settings and serve diverse populations. Cindy has 20 years of experience with direct service to undeserved, trauma impacted, youth and their families. Additionally, she co-developed and implemented a graduate level course on Evidence-Based Mental Health Treatment with Children and Adolescents.

Cancellation Policy:

Written notification of cancellation must be received in our office at least 10 business days prior to a training for a refund. A $25.00 cancellation fee will be deducted from the refund. There will be no refund for cancellation notification less than 10 business days.

CBPS reserves the right to cancel a training due to inclement weather or insufficient enrollment. In the event of such cancellation, you will receive a full refund.
