Description:

This course is for the current RPT-S or those aspiring to become a Registered Play Therapy Supervisor. This webinar is designed to support the integrity of both in-person and telehealth supervision. The primary instructional focus will be on the unique challenges in play therapy supervision as it relates to skill development; professional growth and the advanced criteria of RPT certification. Participants will be encouraged to bring their questions, thoughts and concerns for review and discussion.

Day #1

  • Explain the difference between play therapy supervision and play therapy consultation
  • Describe clinical supervision for the general supervisor as well as the play therapist supervisor
  • Describe their unique style as a play therapy supervisor/consultant
  • Identify how to improve their performance as a play therapist supervisor
  • Demonstrate supervisory techniques/skills useful in play therapy supervision

Day#2

  • Demonstrate supervisory techniques/skills useful in play therapy supervision (continued)
  • Identify basic legal, ethical, business, administrative, organizational and technological requirements necessary for play therapy supervision.
  • Analyze tools for documentation in supervision and play therapy supervision (most especially as it relates to the new criteria set by APT)

Presenter: Teri V. Krull, LCSW, RPT-S, DCSW 

Teri V. Krull, LCSW, RPT-S, DCSW (NASW) has a 36-year private practice treating children and providing consultation to professionals and parents. A member of APT since 1985 and co-founder and first president of the Arizona APT, she served 6 years on the APT Board; chaired the APT board of directors (2000) and is currently a board member of the National APT Foundation. Teri is an international presenter in play therapy, parent coach, has authored 2 articles for the Play Therapy Magazine and has produced 4 educational play therapy films for long distance learning. In 2010 she was honored with the Arizona District and State NASW Lifetime Achievement Award. Teri is licensed in both Arizona and Maryland.
